Salford Church

The Church of Ascension at Salford was originally built in 1869 and is a Grade II listed building. In February 2017 a fire destroyed the roof and the interior of the building.The roof consists of the Nave featuring 8m Hammer Beam trusses, with Side Aisles, Transepts, Chancel and Apse. Roof timbers are all Douglas Fir. Extensive rebuilding and support works were required to give the necessary support to the roof structure. The latest construction details are all to the latest Building Regs. The tiling has been replaced to original detail in Welsh Slates.Re-building works began in 2018 and due for completion in Sept 2020.
